Does your Windows keep crashing and display an lsass.exe error? Lsass.exe is one of the core Windows processes that is extremely prone to errors that are not easy to fix. Disabling lsass.exe only makes things worse and doesn’t fix the errors. On top of that, viruses and malware often pretend to be the lsass.exe file. I’m sure many of you remember the famous sasser worm. So, let’s see what you can do when you get the lsass.exe error and how you can fix lsass.exe.

Lsass.exe stands for Local Security Authentication Server and it’s responsible for verifying users when they log into Windows. In addition to that, lsass.exe is responsible for enforcing security policies within Windows. Basically, it’s lsass.exe that checks your log in credentials and either grants or denies access. If something goes wrong and you force-close the lsass.exe process, you will get a Windows errors and will have to reboot your computer.

The worst bit about the lsass.exe error is that it can corrupt your operating system in such a way, that it will become unusable and you will have to reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows. This error can be caused by a trojan pretending to be lsass.exe. Usually this trojan is called Isass.exe, which looks similar enough for you not to notice it when taking a look at running processes.

So, how to fix the lsass.exe error? The first thing you should do is simply reboot your computer. Believe it or not, but lsass.exe can have glitches and a simple reboot fixes the problem.

If restarting your computer doesn’t help, then the first thing you should do is scan your computer with a reliable anti-malware program. Try using Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware – a free program that can detect and remove most types of malware. The best way to remove the Isass.exe virus is to run Malwarebytes’ in Windows Safe Mode. Here is how:

Reboot your computer and start pressing F8 when the screen is still black

The Windows boot menu will appear. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate to Safe Mode and press Enter

Your computer will boot in Safe Mode, which should disable the virus

Run Malwarebytes in Safe Mode and delete everything it finds

Reboot your PC, keep tapping F8 and select Normal Mode

If your lsass.exe errors were caused by a trojan, they should be fixed. But what if the lsass.exe file was corrupted and the anti-malware program didn’t fix it? Then you need to apply the lsass.exe error fix.

To apply the lsass.exe error fix, you need to fix the lsass.exe settings in the Windows registry. Of course, you can do it manually, but it’s much easier to use a registry repair tool to fix lsass.exe. Simply download the recommended tool, install it and run a scan. Then let the program fix all detected registry errors and reboot your computer. The lsass.exe error fix will be applied and all errors should be gone.

Microsoft Security Essrntials Alert is a rogue anti-virus which gains access to your computer via Trojans or software vulnerability, the virus will gain access to your system and disperse a number of different files and settings around your computer which will then create the correct environment needed for the virus to thrive. It does this by blocking normal computer processes so that you are unable to access the internet or My Computer etc.

XP Anti-Virus 2011 is what’s known as a fake anti-virus infection, and it can be extremely dangerous because it has the ability to disable your computer. The reason why these infections are so damaging is because they all look like legitimate programs, which lure people into a false sense of security by convincing you that your system is infected with a number of viruses and infections. The next step is for them to offer a solution to your worrying problem by offering their services to you, which is to get you to purchase a product off them which promises to remove those viruses and infections, which is completely bogus and fake.

How Do You Catch XP Anti-Virus 2011 Infection

Most of these viruses are due to the fact that people have opened spam emails or clicked on suspicious links and have been redirected to a infected website. By this time the infection has already began to download and install onto your system and begin to get to work.

These viruses are so dangerous because they actually look like legitimate anti-virus programs, which is why so many people have been taken for by these cyber criminals behind the infections. Some things you will notice if your computer is infected with one of these viruses is that everything will appear to run extremely slow and sluggish as well various windows not being able to open properly and complete the simplest of tasks. These are all attributes of a computer infected with a fake anti-virus.

Windows Firewall Unit is a fake anti-virus which is designed to infiltrate your computer system and disperse a number of different and potentially dangerous file and settings throughout your computer which makes it extremely difficult to fully remove. If your computer is infected with this virus then you notice that windows you have open will immediately close down and you will not be able to complete many of the most simplest tasks. After this you will notice that a program will appear on your desktop, which is Windows Firewall Unit and it will appear to scan your system and it will always find viruses and various infections. This process is to lure you into a state of panic which dramatically impacts your rational way of thinking, which then results in the program alerting you that you can remove these fake infections by purchasing the full version of the program.

Fake Windows Profile System is without a doubt a fake anti-virus infection that is designed to creep into your system undetected by any anti-spyware programs and cripple your computers infrastructure.

If your computer is infected with this virus, you will notice substantial changes to your computer which include your system running really slow, various windows closing down and finally, a program appearing (which is the fake windows profile system virus). You will notice that when it appears it will begin to start scanning your system and once it has finished it will announce that your computer has a number of viruses and infections. By this time you will be starting to get pretty scared by the amount of infections it is finding, but don’t be fooled, it is just a ploy to lure you into a false sense of security. The next step of the virus is to try and get your to hand over your hard earned cash to pay for the ‘upgraded’ version to remove these fake infections it has found.

XP Defender Pro is a quite an old infection, that’s been installing itself onto 100′s of computers each day for about 1 year now. This virus has been created by hackers to resemble an actual antivirus application, and as a result it’s continually trying to get you to buy the fake upgrade to the program by showing you a series of false antivirus scanning results. If you have this virus, it’s vital that you’re able to get rid of the infection in the most effective way possible – which can be done by using the steps outlined on this page.

What Is XP Defender Pro, Exactly?

This virus is a newly released scam which is also called a “malware” (malicious software) infection. It works by installing itself onto your computer and then getting you to purchase the rogue upgrade to the infection through showing you a large number of fake antivirus scanning results. The primary role of this infection is to act as a “Front”, to encourage you that the hidden threats which reside under the surface are not there.

Removing XP Defender PRO is actually very easy to do, but takes a little bit more effort than a typical virus. The problem is that unlike most viruses, this infection will disable a lot of the programs on your PC, including the likes of Task Manager, your Internet and other important options. If you want to remove it, you have to stop it from running before deleting all the parts of the program in the most effective way from your computer, as demonstrated below:
