Dead Space 2 is a very popular game that tends to run quite slow on some peoples computers but they don’t know why. There could be a lot of reasons as to why the game is running slow all the time and the following tutorial will show you how to speed up Dead Space 2 and keep it running as fast as possible for a long time.

What Causes Dead Space 2 To Run Slow

Something that would cause a computer game to run slow would be either one of the following conditions:

Registry keys are out of place or deleted, damaged or corrupt

Windows settings have changed

Dead Space 2 files are damaged or corrupt

Other programs are running in the background

How To Stop Dead Space 2 Running Slow

Step 1 - Re-install Dead Space 2

First of all the problem lies within Dead Space 2 and its related files so it is recommended that you first uninstall the game and then re-install it. To uninstall Dead Space 2 follow the instructions below:

Click Start

Control Panel

Add/Remove Programs

Select Dead Space 2 and click Uninstall

Follow the wizard and remove all instances of the game

Restart your computer

Install the game again

Step 2 - Lower The In-Game Graphics Levels

The next step is to lower the in-game graphics of your game. This can be done by clicking onto the game and then lowering the relevant video options your system may have. To do this, please follow these steps:

Click onto the Dead Space 2 game

Select the “Options” menu

Locate the “Graphics” section of the options menu

For all the graphics options, lower them to their lowest settings possible

Step 3 - Ensure That You Have All The Updated Drivers

You also need to ensure that all the drivers you have on your PC are updated. This can be done in two ways, either manually or by using an automated tool called “Driver Finder“. The manual method can be used by following the steps here:

Click onto Start > Control Panel > Device Manager

Select the hardware which could have corrupted / outdated drivers

Right-click onto the device and click “Update”

Update all the drivers that you can

Step 4 - Close Other Programs Whilst Playing

It is recommended that you close down any other programs whilst playing Dead Space 2 because they will take up so much memory that your computer will find it extremely difficult to process all the information once which will cause your game to run slow again.

Step 4 - Clean Out The Registry

Download This Registry Cleaner

One of the big causes of Dead Space 2 Problems is through the “registry” database of your computer. This is a large database which stores vital information & settings for your PC, and is used continually to help Windows to read the files, settings & options that it needs to run. Although the registry is one of the most important parts of every Windows system, it’s continually causing a large number of problems thanks to the way it will often become corrupted and unreadable. This is the cause behind many Windows errors, and needs to be resolved by using a reliable “registry cleaner” application.

This step is best completed by downloading Frontline Registry Cleaner, and letting it clean out any of the problems that your system may have inside.

0×0000001 Error is a critical Windows error that shows as a fatal ‘blue screen’ error and will prevent you from using your computer. This error typically appears during startup and indicates a system problem brought forth by the mismatch of thread and asynchronous procedure calls (APC) indexes in the number of processes that entered the critical area in comparison to the number of processes that left. You need to repair this error to be able to solve the error and use your computer normally again. This tutorial will help you fix the 0×0000001 errors quickly.

What Causes Error 0×0000001?

There are various causes for this error message appearing on your screen. The most common causes are listed below:

Mismatch of thread or asynchronous procedure calls (APC).

Recently added hardware or issues with software and device drivers.

Insertion of CD or DVD onto the optical drive.

Use of Windows Vista Aero scheme.

Logging on to the default desktop after unlocking the computer.

Transition of computer into sleep mode repeatedly.

When a program has registered an event hook using an API(Application Programming Interface).

Problems in the Win32k.sys file.

Memory corruption

The RAM’s memory exceeds the motherboard and BIOS capability.

How To Fix The 0×0000001 Error

Step 1 – Make Sure All The Hardware Is Working Correctly

To resolve the problem, you need to make sure that all the hardware attached to your computer is working correctly. If your system experienced the error upon installing a new hardware device, you need to remove it and get it to work properly. You also need to verify if your hardware is compatible with your Windows version.

Step 2 – Update Any Out-Of-Date Drivers For Your PC

The problem can easily be caused by outdated device drivers, and in most cases, this is the primary cause of the problem. You need to ensure that the different device drivers installed in your computer are updated so that everything runs smoothly. Here’s how you can do this:

Click Start > Control Panel > Device Manager (for Vista and Windows 7) or System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button (for XP).

For every device driver, you need to verify the date of it by right-clicking on it, select “Properties” and then click the Driver tab. Take note of the date of the driver.

Go to the manufacturer’s website and check for device driver updates. If there is a device driver available for your device with a much later date, download it onto your hard drive and install it.

Once you have verified that the new device driver is working, you can opt to remove the old device driver by going back to the Device Manager window, right-click on the old device driver and select “Uninstall” to remove it.

Step 3 – Update Windows

The problem can also be caused by having an outdated Windows system. You need to get the latest updates from the Microsoft website which are sent out from time to time to ensure that your system is running with the latest fixes. Microsoft is constantly coming up with fixes for known Windows errors. To update your Windows version, click Start > All Programs > Windows Update and follow the update wizard. Restart your PC when prompted to finish the update process.

Step 4 – Clean Out The Registry Of Windows

Download This Registry Cleaner

The registry is an important component in your Windows system that serves as a central repository for all settings of files and programs. It is accessed by Windows to be able to remember how to load the different files and programs on your PC and run them properly.
d3d9.dll is a file that relates to the DirectX DLL and is designed to help support the DirectX9 utility. The file provides utilities and supports the functionality of DirectX when you use Windows Multimedia components and when accessing similar files and applications like games. Since d3d9.dll is classified as a non-system process, it comes from software that was originally installed into the system. In some cases, files or processes related to it may suffer fragmentation and can even be damaged, which results in you experiencing errors. When the computer experiences such a problem, one of the following messages is displayed:

“The file d3d9.dll is missing”

“D3d9.DLL Not Found”

“File d3d9.dll not found”

“D3d9.dll not found. Reinstalling might help fix this.”

What causes the d3d9.dll Error?

There are several issues that contribute to the error in the d2d9.dll file. One of these includes problems or errors within the Microsoft DirectX program. It’s important to note that the file is used for a series of programs that use the DirectX software. Thus, when these programs are used the d3d9.dll file is also used. In some cases extreme use of the file can corrupt or damage it. Further, these programs are not entirely immune from infections and other damage, thus they can malfunction and this will affect the file too. There are several ways to address this issue. It’s strictly recommended you adhere to the following procedures.

How to Fix the D3D9.dll Error on Your PC

Step 1 – Update DirectX

One way to solve the error is to update Microsoft DirectX. The application was designed to help Windows-based computers in properly running multimedia elements. These elements include: video, full-colour graphics, rich audio and even 3D. DirectX requires many performance and security updates to continually function as it’s supposed to. Further, updates are necessary to make sure that the platform has all the new features.

By updating DirectX, you will also overwrite existing files, thereby providing the computer with new files and settings to access. To update DirectX, go to Microsoft website and find the available upgrade or download for it. There are two ways to get the update, either you click Open or Run to process the upgrade from its current location, or you can instead copy and then download the upgrade onto the computer. By clicking save and opening it, the installation will automatically proceed. Make sure to follow instructions accordingly.

Step 2 – Manually Replace the D3D9.dll File on your PC

If updating the platform does not work then manually replacing the file might be the best solution. To do this, follow these steps:

1) Download d3d9.zip from our server

2) Unzip the d3d9.dll file onto your computer’s hard drive

3) Browse to c:\Windows\System32

4) Locate the current d3d9.dll on your system

5) Rename the current d3d9.dll to d3d9BACKUP.dll

6) Copy & paste the new d3d9.dll into C:\Windows\System32

7) Click Start > Run (Or search”run” on Vista & Win7)

8 ) Type “cmd” in the box that appears

9) Type “regsvr32 d3d9.dll” on the black screen

10) Press enter

Step 3 - Clean Out the Registry of Windows

Download This Registry Cleaner

To make sure that problems won’t persist, the computer registry should be cleaned. Registry problems are very often directly linked to d3d9.dll errors. To do this easily, download a registry cleaner application and then install it. Instructions are provided on how to use it.

The Windows 80244019 Error is a problem that is encountered while updating Windows using the Windows Update feature. This error appears for many reasons, most often as a result of having the Automatic Update service or another equally important service used by Windows Update turned off. While the error isn’t a serious issue by itself, it can lead to far worse problems, such as when the error prevents Windows from connecting into the Windows Update Server or when a virus infection takes advantage of the error and changes the values of the Automatic Updates service. You need to repair the problem to be able to complete the update process and do away with the error messages. This tutorial will enable you to fix the error quickly.

What Causes Windows Error 80070422?

The error is primarily caused by Windows Update not working properly as a result of a possible virus infection, damaged Windows Update files and settings, or else registry problems. There are many viruses out there that can turn off the Automatic Updates service and disable other services used by Windows Update. Your computer might also have problems with settings in the registry, which can cause your PC to run slowly. You need to repair the errors to fix the problem – which can be accomplished using the steps below:

How To Fix Windows Error 80070422 On Your PC

Step 1 – Scan Your PC For Viruses

To be able to eliminate viruses that turn off the Automatic Updates settings, you need to clean out your system. Viruses can also infect your system by installing a rogue component – One that shares either the same name or a very similar name with that of an important and legitimate Windows file, leading to confusion in your system. You need to use a powerful “anti-malware” program such as XOFTSPY to clean out computer viruses from your system.

Step 2 – Disable The Windows Update Services

You can also disable the Windows Update services to prevent the error message from showing. Here’s how you can do this:

Click Start> Run, type “regedit” in the dialogue box, and then press Enter to enter the registry.

In the left pane of the registry, navigate to find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU.”

Once you are in the right folder, in the right pane, locate the “UseWUServer” and change the value from “dword:00000001” into “dword:00000000.”

Reboot your PC for the changes to take effect.

Step 3 – Clean Out The Registry Of Windows

Download This Registry Cleaner

The “registry” is renowned for the problems it can cause in computers, is known to be responsible for many of the Windows 80070422 errors that occur. The registry is a large database that is used by Windows to store the settings for your files and programs. Windows will have to access those registry entries to remember exactly how to load the different files applications you use properly. However, because Windows loads multiple registry keys at the same time, your system sometimes gets confused when saving them, and this causes the registry entries to become damaged or corrupted, eventually producing the different errors that appear on your screen and making your computer run slowly. You need to repair the damaged registry keys by using a reliable registry cleaner that can do the scanning and cleaning for you.

SVCHOST.EXE is a generic process name for services that transfer the functionalities of exe files to dynamic link libraries. This enables Windows to reuse functionalities and launch the different dll files, for they cannot just run by themselves. The 0x745f2780 error is produced by a corrupted Windows Update process and it usually appears after logging in to Windows. You need to resolve the issues surrounding the Windows Update utility to be able to fix the problem. This tutorial will enable you to correct the 0x745f2780 errors in your PC.

What Causes The SVCHOST 0x745f2780 Error?

The error is generally caused by an improper Windows Update or when the files that are brought in to your system are corrupted, which leads to the error message appearing on your screen and slowing down of your computer. The error can also be caused by incorrect update settings and unregistered Windows Update dll files. You need to correct the problem with the svchost.exe file – which can be performed using the steps outlined below:

How To Fix SVCHOST 0x745f2780 Errors

Step 1 – Verify Windows Update Setting Are Correct

To fix the problems related to the Windows Update service, you first need to verify the different Windows Update settings are correct. Here’s how to do this:

Click Start> Run and then type “services.msc” in the dialogue box and click OK.

Locate the “Automatic Updates” service and double-click on it.

Click the “Log On” Tab and then make sure that the “Local System Account” is selected as the logon account and the check box for “allow service to interact with desktop” is “UNCHECKED”.

In the “Hardware Profile” section inside the “Log On” Tab, make sure the “Automatic Updates” service is enabled.

On the General Tab, the Startup Type should be “Automatic”, and if not, you need to change it by selecting “Automatic” in the dropdown box.

Under “Service Status” on the General tab, the service status should be “Started” which you can do by clicking the “Start” button to enable it.

Repeat the same steps above for the service named “Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS).”

Step 2 – Re-Register The Windows Update DLL Files

You need to re-register the “WUAPI.DLL” file to ensure that the Windows Update service will work properly. Here’s how to re-register the Windows Update DLL files:

Click Start> Run, type “cmd” and then click OK.

In the Command Prompt window, type “REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL” and press Enter.

Wait until the “DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded” message appears and then click OK.

Type also the following commands to register the other Windows Update DLL files and repeat the same process:

REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL
REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL
REGSVR32 WUWEB.DLL

Step 3 – Stop The Windows Update Service From Running

To stop the Windows Update service from running, you need to go to the “Services” window and disable the service. To stop the service, you need to click Start> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services. Locate “Automatic Updates” and right-click on it. Select “Stop” and press OK.

Step 4 – Clean Out The Registry

Download This Registry Cleaner

If correcting the Windows Update settings did not prevent the error message from appearing, you need to clean out the registry, which is a big source of svchost 0x745f2780 errors and lots of other problems. Issues in the registry almost always cause your computer to run very slowly and ultimately error messages like the svchost 0x745f2780 error message appear.

The registry is the central database that Windows uses to store all file and program settings it needs to be able to load your different applications correctly. The errors in the registry are produced because Windows loads hundreds of registry entries at the same time, and gets confused when saving them. You need to repair registry errors efficiently, and the best way to do so is by using a registry cleaner that can accurately scan your system and effectively repair the errors.

Step 2 – Restart & Try To Re-Install The Updates For Your PC

After you have successfully stopped the Windows Update service from running, you need to reboot your PC. Once you are logged back in to Windows, try to install the updates – which you can do easily by doing these steps:

Click Start> All Programs> Windows Update

Follow the update wizard to begin updating

Select the different updates you want to be installed by ticking the check box before the name of the specific update entry (make sure that there is a check mark)

Restart your PC when prompted

If the update process is successful, then the problem has been resolved. However, if the error resurfaced when you try to install the updates again, then you need to clean out your registry.

Step 3 – Clean Out The Registry

Download This Registry Cleaner

The registry is one of the biggest culprits for a host of problems in Windows, including the 0×80070420 errors that are plaguing your system. The registry is a huge database where all of Windows’ settings and options it uses for your files and programs are stored. Windows will need to access these settings every time it tries to load or run any of your files or programs. The registry is a very important Windows component, but is often experiencing these errors that result in slowdowns and other problems. These errors happen because Windows works at such a rapid pace that sometimes it saves the registry settings incorrectly. You need to clean out the registry using a registry cleaner which can scan your system and repair the errors inside it.

Windows Error Code 19 is a type of Device Manager Error Code and is a problem that is exclusive to the way in which Windows cannot correctly read a device on your PC. You will typically stumble upon this error whenever Windows cannot correctly read or load your PC’s CD/DVD drive, resulting in Windows’ failure to process the settings it needs to run the CD or DVD you are trying to play.

What Causes Windows Error 19?

The Windows Error Code 19 normally happens whenever your system’s CD or DVD drive is corrupted, or some of its files are missing, resulting in the system’s failure to read or process the settings for the media from the drive. In addition, Windows Error Code 19 can also result from issues found inside of your Windows Registry, which contains drivers and other important data about the specifics of your hardware.

How To Fix Windows Error 19 On Your PC

Step 1 –Download A Fix From Microsoft

Download This Fix

If the reason for Windows Error 19 showing up on your PC is due to issues with the driver or settings of the CD / DVD drive, consider utilizing the tools available in Microsoft’s website. The Microsoft Fix is a handy computing tool that you can use to fix problems in your CD or DVD drive, and has been created by Microsoft’s engineers to repair the problems that you have on your system. This tool can be quickly and easily downloaded from Microsoft’s website and it is very easy to use. Copies are available for quick downloading and instructions are straightforward and very easy to follow.

Step 2 – Edit The Registry

It’s often the cae that Windows error 19 will be caused by some sort of registry issues on your PC. To fix this, one solution that you can perform is to edit this sector of your PC. Just be careful to follow the instructions here EXACTLY, as the registry is a very fragile sector and one wrong move in here could cause huge problems:

The first step to editing your registry is to click on Start in your Windows Bar. Afterwards, select Run then type “regedit” on the blank field that will be shown. Next confirm the operation by clicking on the OK tab. After this, navigate to the following registry subkey on the navigation pane on your monitor: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

Next you would want to choose the “UpperFilters” option on the right part of the window. Afterwards, click on the Edit and Delete tabs respectively. Confirm the command by clicking on the Yes button. The next step is to choose the “LowerFilters” option, then click on the Edit tab. Afterwards, click on the Delete tab and click Yes to confirm the command. Following this you can now close the Registry Editor window and restart your PC.

Step 3 – Clean Out The Registry

Download This registry cleaner

The registry is a well known problem area in your computer, where you will see a lot of errors such as Windows Error Code 19 originating from. This sector in your PC is a high traffic area as information gets passed here each and every time Windows attempts to load an application. Its core function is the storage of all the settings and files that Windows uses for its operation. Unfortunately, its design is somewhat imperfect, and leaves a lot to be desired. After heavy use the registry files are prone to getting corrupted or damaged.

When such faults happen, the speed of your PC will significantly drop, adversely affecting the loading of applications and programs. When programs are not loaded properly, costly errors such as Windows Error Code 19 are likely to result. To fix error causing problems in your registry, it is recommended that you use a registry cleaner, which is a tool that can quickly and thoroughly fix issues in your registry.

The Cmicnfg.Cpl is a Windows Control Panel file, which is used to load the various configurations of Windows after a crash. The error that this file causes are triggered when you install a C-Media WDM Audio Driver update on your computer, and this update may cause the audio to stop playing. The update my not remove all of the old files and its past registry entries, causing the new CMedia program to be unable to load properly. When you restart your computer and it tries to load the Cmincfg.Cpl file, and it shows up with the error because you have already carried out the uninstall.

What Causes The Cmicnfg.Cpl Error?

As mentioned above, the Cmicnfg.Cpl error is caused when you install a C-Media WDM Audio Driver update on your computer. This update may cause the audio to stop functioning. To fix the error, you should first look to clear out all the old settings that C-Media left on your PC, and then reinstall the drivers for the hardware involved. Here’s what you need to do…

How To Fix The Cmicnfg.Cpl Error

Step 1 – Remove The Registry Settings For Cmicngf.Cpl

Editing the registry is complicated and these steps have been made so that you can follow them as easily and as safely as possible:

Click Start, select Run.

In the box type ‘Regedit‘ (without quotations).

Click OK.

This will open up the Registry window.

Once in the Registry window, navigate to the following key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

Once you have done that, delete the cmaudio string.

Deleting this string will in turn, stop the error code from appearing at system startup, although it seems that we have successfully removed the problem, we haven’t. We have only just removed the command that causes the error to appear at system startup, not the actual problem itself.

In the Registry window press Edit, then select Find.

Once you have done that, search for all the keys that are related to cmaudio and C-Media, and delete them from the Registry.

Navigate your way to the next registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\Cpls

For this key you need to delete the Cmcpls string, this will delete the WDM Audio Drivers Control Panel icon.

It is highly recommended that you create a backup of the registry just in case you make a mistake and you need to go back.

Step 2 – Delete C-Media Files

After you’ve cleaned out registry keys left by CMedia, you then need to delete the files it may have left on your PC as well. To do this follow these steps:

Open Windows Explorer, find the System32 folder.

Delete the following files:

cmirmdrv.exe

cmirmdrv.dll

cmuda.dll

cmicnfg.cpl

C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\cmuda.dll

C:\WINDOWS\System32\LastGood\cmicnfg.cpl

You need to also delete any related file that are located in these folders:

C:\Temp

C:\Windows\Temp

C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%Local Settings\Temp (Windows 2000 and XP only!)

C:\Windows\prefetch (Windows XP only!)

Step 3 – Reinstall The Original C-Media Drivers

For this step you need to reinstall the original C-Media drivers, to do this you need to access the device manager and to do this please follow these steps:

Open the Control Panel.

Select Performance and Maintenance.

Select System.

In the System Properties dialog box, open the Hardware tab.

The select Device Manager.

The next thing you need to do is to reinstall the original C-Media Drivers, to do this follow these steps:

When you are you in Device Manager, in Sounds, video, and game controllers.

Right click C-Media WDM Driver, and select Uninstall.

After the uninstallation process has completed you need to check for any hardware that might be left over from the process. Tto do this you need to right-click on the top icon and select the Scan for hardware changes. This process will search your entire computer for any Plug and Play devices, this process should seek out your Sound Card and should also install the generic Multimedia Audio Controller and not the C-Media WDM Audio Driver. However if this procedure fails that you should carry out step 2 again.

Step 4 – Clean Out The Registry

- Download this registry cleaner

Once you’ve removed the various CMedia files & settings, you may find that a lot of unwanted settings are left inside the “registry” of your PC. Not many people realize the registry is a part of Windows, but it’s a database & one of the most important components inside your system. Unfortunately, uninstalling the CMedia driver will actually cause this database to have a lot of settings left over, which often causes the Cmicnfg.cpl error. It’s highly recommended that you clean out this part of your PC by using a ‘registry cleaner’, of which you can see one below:
