  • Windows is out of date
  • Hardware errors / incompatibility

How To Fix 0x00000028 Errors On Your PC

Step 1 – Restart Your PC In “Safe Mode”

“Safe Mode” is a special setting that Microsoft coded into Windows to help load up your PC without any of the drivers or software that could be causing problems for your PC. By starting in safe mode, you’ll be able to determine whether your computer has issues with its software or hardware, allowing you to better repair the specific error your computer has. Here’s what you should do:

  • Restart Your PC
  • Press F8 Before Windows Has A Chance to Load
  • On The “Boot Menu” That Appears, Select “SAFE MODE”
  • When Your PC Loads, Use It As Normally As Possible

This will load up your PC without any of the software which could be causing a problem, meaning that if it’s continually showing the error, it’s going to be a hardware error and should be taken to a computer repair specialist to fix. If the error does not appear in safe mode, you should move onto Step 2:

Step 2 – Reinstall Any Programs Causing The Error

If your PC still works in safe mode, it suggests that there are some software issues causing the problem on your PC. To fix these, the first step you should take is to reinstall any programs which may be causing the error to show. This can be done by following the steps below:

  • Click “Start
  • Locate “Control Panel
  • Click “Add / Remove Programs
  • Locate the program causing the error
  • Click “Remove / Uninstall” next to it
  • Wait for the uninstallation to complete
  • Restart Your PC
  • Re-install the program

This will repair any potential problems that your software / programs had causing the error. Not only will this allow your system to run much smoother, it will allow your programs to read all the files & settings they require to run correctly, preventing the error from occurring again.

Step 3 – Update Windows

It could be the case that your PC has some sort of problem with the files or settings it requires to run, making it important that you keep your system as up to date as possible. To do this, you should download all the updates that are available for your version of Windows from the “Windows Update” application.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Click “Start
  • Locate “All Programs” & Click it
  • Find “Windows Update” and click it
  • Allow your PC to download all the updates it requires

Step 4 – Use A Registry Cleaner

The “registry” of your PC is a huge database which stores all the settings and options that your computer requires to run. Although this part of your computer is one of the most important, it’s continually causing a huge number of errors & problems thanks to the way in which your system will continually corrupt it. If you’re seeing the 0x000000028 error on your system, it’s likely that there is a some sort of problem with the settings inside the registry of your system.
