CreateProcess Failed: Code 740 is an error that’s caused by Windows being unable to properly load up the permissions that your PC requires to run. If this error is showing on your PC, it means that you don’t have the correct “rights” to perform the operation, and needs to be resolved by first ensuring that you can repair the various problems that your PC may have, as well as then cleaning out any of the errors that will prevent the software from running correctly.

What Causes This Error?

The UAC (User Account Control) of Windows will be corrupted / damaged. This is what Vista & Windows 7 use to help make Windows run with all the administrator options that are required to run, and is continually causing a huge number of errors that will prevent the application from loading up.

How To Fix CreateProcess Failed; Code 740 Errors

Step 1 - Disable The UAC Of Windows Vista / 7

VISTA

Open up Control Panel, and type in “UAC” into the search box. You’ll see a link for “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off”:

On the next screen you should uncheck the box for “Use User Account Control (UAC)”, and then click on the OK button.

You’ll need to reboot your computer before the changes take effect, but you should be all done with annoying prompts.

WINDOWS 7

Windows 7 makes it much easier to deal with UAC settings, and in fact you don’t have to completely disable UAC if you don’t want to. Just type UAC into the start menu or Control Panel search box.

You can simply drag the slider up or down, depending on how often you want to be alerted.

Step 2 - Clean Out The Registry Of Your PC

Download This Registry Cleaner

One of the biggest causes of this error is that the “registry” of your system will become damaged & unreadable. The problem is that the registry database of Windows is a large database of settings which Windows uses to help it load up the likes of your most recent emails, desktop wallpaper and even your passwords… however, it’s also one of the biggest causes of problems for the Windows system. The issue is that your PC will continually damage this database, causing a huge number of problems to form on your PC.

We recommend using a program called Frontline Registry Cleaner to fix the registry errors that your PC may have. You can use this tool by downloading it to your computer, installing it and then letting it repair the various problems that Windows may have inside.

Error 1421 typically occurs when you run Visual FoxPro 7.0 on your computer. It arises due to your PC’s failure to find a particular Control ID. This type of error can be caused by several factors such as a corrupted or outdated Windows, registry errors, and damaged applications. This tutorial will teach you how this error can be fixed in your computer.

How To Fix The 1421 Error

Step 1 – Update Windows

The first thing that you should do when confronted with this error is to update Windows. The steps below will show you how.

Click on Start on your Windows Bar

Next select All Programs

Next choose Windows Update

A new window will prompt. On the prompt select Check For Updates (which you would find on the top left corner of the pane)

After it is done checking for updates, choose Install updates to install current updates

If this doesn’t work, proceed to Step 2

Step 2 – Re-Install Affected Software

Another way to fix this error is to re-install affected software in your system. To accomplish this, follow the steps outlined below.

Select Start then choose Control Panel

Next choose Programs and Features

Look for the affected/damaged program/s in your PC from the list that will be shown on your screen

Now you can remove the program/s by clicking on the Uninstall button.

Refresh your settings by restarting your computer

Check to see if the program/s you have just deleted has been completely uninstalled from your PC. Look if the application is still listed on the Start Menu and the Programs and Features field.

Insert the CD Installer on your PC’s CD/DVD drive

Restart your computer once again to refresh settings

Test the program you have just installed

If the error continues to persist even after you have performed Step 2, consider cleaning your registry.

Step 3 – Clean Out the Registry of Windows

Download This Registry Cleaner

The registry is a very important part of your computer as crucial information gets stored here. Extension files, configurations, and settings that are essential to the operation of both hardware and software in your PC are found here. Suffice to say, you would not be able to use your PC without the registry. However this sector of your system is prone to getting errors as overtime it gets overloaded with data.

Repetitive installing and uninstalling of software, downloading of files from the Internet, moving of programs around your computer, all contribute to your registry getting overwhelmed with information, many of which is non-essential and only serves to slow down your PC and cause errors to surface. In addition, many unnecessary files in the registry are not self-cancelling, in that even if their parent programs have been removed or uninstalled, they will continue to remain there. That is why it is important that you periodically clean your registry to free up space. For this matter it is highly recommended that you use a registry cleaner.

You would typically encounter error 80073712 on occasions that you attempt but fail to install Windows Vista updates onto your computer. This error is typically due to Windows’ component store being corrupted.

What Causes Error 80073712?

A corrupt Windows component store or damaged registry entries are some of the reasons why your computer will not be able to install Windows Vista updates onto your PC and why error 80073712 will surface on your system. This tutorial will teach you how you can repair this issue in your computer.

How To Fix Error 80073712

Step 1 - Use The “System Readiness Tool”

Resources in your PC such as registry data, in-memory data, and file data may develop errors or inconsistencies due to software issues or hardware failures. The System Readiness Tool is used to fix these inconsistencies or errors (such as 80073712) to restore normalcy in your computer. Before you run the tool, you need to get the latest updates first. To obtain a System Readiness Tool update, follow the steps below.

Click on Start on your Windows Bar then choose Control Panel.

Afterwards select Security.

On Windows Update, select Check for Updates.

Once this tool gets completely downloaded in your PC, it will scan and repair inconsistencies in your system. On average, the scan/repair process will take 15 minutes to complete, depending on the computer. In cases where you would observe that the Windows Update progress bar is not being updated during the scan, do not cancel the update. This is normal behavior. Let the scan/repair process run until it finishes detecting and fixing all known inconsistencies in your system.

If the error still persists proceed to Step 2.

Step 2 – Run Windows Update Again

Another thing that you can do to fix this error is to run Windows Update, the steps of which are explained below.

Open the Internet Explorer

Next, choose Windows Update which you could find under the Tools option. Follow the instructions that will be shown on your screen.

Allow installation of at least Critical Update and all other related updates for Internet Explorer.

If necessary, also allow installation of other updates.

If this does not fix the error, go to Step 3.

Step 3 – Clean Out the Registry of Windows

Download This Registry Cleaner

The registry is an area in your PC that is constantly humming with activity. It essentially records all activities that occur inside your system. It stores valuable entries, configurations, values, files and settings that are important to the operation of your software and hardware. Unfortunately, it also serves as a repository for many useless data that accumulates overtime placing a heavy burden on your computer’s resources.

When your registry gets overloaded with entries, your PC will dramatically slow down, programs will not be loaded properly causing errors to surface. That is why it is important for you to clean your registry of unwanted data from time to time. However it is not recommended that you do this manually as there is a risk that important files might get deleted accidentally. For this purpose, it is recommended that you use an automated registry cleaner.

<g:plusone size="tall" count="1" href="http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/general-errors/80073712-error-fix-tutorial-2/"></g:plusone>

Windows Code 38 is a problem reported by the Device Manager console of your Windows system. The problem shows in your computer as a result of Windows being unable to load the correct device driver which relates to the program you are trying to use. The error is usually an indication of software problems, which result from conflicts surrounding the resources that the device is using. It could also be due to settings which have become damaged or corrupted. You need to fix the problem in order to make use of the device again and do away with error messages. This may sound quite tricky to accomplish, but is easily performed once you know how. This tutorial will help you repair the Windows error with code 38 on your PC.

What Causes The Code 38 Error?

The errors that Device Manager are reporting are primarily caused by the device driver not loading properly, either because it has been corrupted or a previous version of it has already been installed, causing conflicts with the resources allotted for the device. The problems can also be caused by issues with the device itself, or by errors in the registry. You need to identify the source of the problem to fix the errors – which can be performed using the steps outlined below:

How To Fix The Code 38 Error On Windows

Step 1 – Load Up The “Troubleshooting Wizard”

One way around this is to use the Troubleshooting Wizard that comes with the Windows operating system. The Troubleshooting Wizard will enable you to accurately resolve the problem based on questions it asks you to identify what is going wrong. To load the wizard, just follow these steps:

Click Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager. For Vista and Windows 7 systems, click Start > Control Panel > Device Manager.

Double-click on the device that has problems. You will notice problem devices as these are indicated with either a red exclamation mark or yellow exclamation mark.

On the Device Properties dialog box, select the General tab. It is usually the default tab when the Properties dialog box appears.

Click Troubleshoot to launch the Troubleshooting Wizard.

Follow the on-screen resolution steps that are provided by the wizard.

Keep on checking the Device status area of the problematic device in the Properties dialog box as you progress through the Troubleshooting Wizard to verify whether the error has been resolved.

When the red or yellow exclamation mark vanishes, then you are finished troubleshooting the error.

Step 2 - Clean Out The Registry

Download This Registry Cleaner

If the Troubleshooting Wizard doesn’t resolve things, the problem can only be with the registry. This is a large central database for all the file and program settings and is well known for being the source of a host of problems for your computer including the Windows 38 errors. The registry is needed as Windows needs to read it when loading your programs and files, in order to remember how you have them set up. Registry errors crop up because of this database’s size; it’s so big and accessed so often that Windows saves these settings incorrectly at times. You need to repair the errors inside the registry to resolve the Windows 38 error by using a reliable ‘registry cleaner’ that can perform a thorough scan and carry out the vital repairs.

We highly recommend that you download and use this tool to quickly remove 99% of system errors by fixing the faults and even help in neutralizing viruses.

Windows error 14 is a common problem for millions of Windows systems, and is caused by the way in which the Windows system will often generate temporary conflicts with the drivers or software that you’re using on your PC. Although this error will often appear randomly, it’s very easy to fix if you know how.

What Causes Windows Error 14?

This error will typically show in this format:

“This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer. (Code 14)“

This error is generally caused by the way in which your system will be unable to correctly read the files & settings which it will require to run a certain piece of hardware. The actual problem that your computer has is that it will have a temporary issue with the way it can open a piece of hardware, making it essential that you’re able to resolve the issue quickly by using the tutorial on this page.

How To Fix Windows Error 14

Step 1 - Restart Your PC

The first step to resolve this issue is to restart your computer. Although Windows is very advanced, it can still develop random problems which will cause issues like the 14 error. The easiest & most effective way to fix the issue is to just restart your system, which will refresh all the settings, processes & services that your computer has, allowing it to run much smoother again. You can reset your PC pressing the “Start” button and then locating “Restart”.

Step 2 - Reinstall Any Software Causing The Error

Reinstalling your software is also highly recommended. This is because the programs you have on your system often have a tendency to cause problems when they are running or load up. This means that if you want to fix any of these issues, re-installing any software that causes the error is a good place to start. To do this, you should follow the steps below:

Click “Start“

Locate “Control Panel” & click

Click “Add / Remove Programs“

Locate the program causing the error

Remove it from your PC

This will get rid of the damaged software, and will also give you the opportunity to re-install the program, which will repair any of its damaged settings / options that are causing the 14 Windows error. If this doesn’t work, then you should look to step 3:

Step 3 - Update Any Damaged Drivers

The “drivers” of your PC are the software applications which allow your computer to correctly interact with the hardware of your system. Although these are highly important parts of your computer, the drivers are continually causing a large number of errors & problems. To guard against this issue, it’s vital that you’re able to keep all the drivers of your PC working correctly, which can be done by using the tutorial here:

Click “Start” > Control Panel > Device Manager

Look through any devices which have a “yellow exclamation mark” by them

Right-click the hardware

Select “Update Driver”

Step 4 - Repair The Registry

Download This Registry Cleaner

One of the main causes of the error code 14 error is down to damaged registry settings on your PC. Registry settings are what Windows uses to help load up all the stored information for your system, including everything from your desktop wallpaper to your latest emails. Although the registry database is a highly important part of your computer, it’s continually causing a lot of different issues on your system, one of which being the code 14 error. If you’ve tried fixing the issues on your PC by using the steps above, it’s recommended you download and run a reliable registry cleaner application, which will scan through your system and remove any of the issues which are inside.

Windows Error 10 typically appears when viewing device manager, or when your PC interacts with a certain piece of hardware. The error 10 message is caused by device manager (Windows) either not recognizing a piece of hardware, or the driver relating to that particular piece of hardware not starting correctly. The way to resolve this error is to first update any drivers and then clean out various problems inside your system.

What Causes Error 10?

The error message will show as:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

This error message will typically appear in device manager. To find out whether you are receiving this error message, go to device manager and look for hardware with a yellow triangle with an exclaimation mark next to it. This will indicate to you that the hardware is faulty. Go to the properties of this hardware and look for the error code; if it is the same as above then you can read on to determine how to solve this problem.

The main cause of this problem are the drivers associated with the hardware. The steps to resolving Error 10 are: Update Windows drivers; update any third party drivers; update to the latest service pack or clean out the registry with an effecient registry cleaner.

How To Fix Error 10

Step 1 – Update Windows To Update Your Drivers

Windows Update continually updates your PC with the latest software and drivers. It is always recommended you keep your operating system up to date as it is always evolving and it is to make sure your system maintains integrity with the latest software. You can update your PC & drivers here.

Windows scans your PC’s hardware and checks to see if you are running the latest drivers. It will offer you suggestions on which drivers need updating and you can download and update them there. You must run Windows Update at least once a week to make sure your PC is always updated.

Step 2 – Update Any Third-Party Drivers To The Latest Version

Some third-party drivers may not be available over Windows Update. These are the drivers that could be causing Error 10 to appear. To update any third party drivers, diagnose which hardware needs to be updated, using the method mentioned before, note the manufacturer and the model number of the hardware in question. Visit the manufacturers website and search for the latest drivers for that particular hardware.

Outdated drivers can be erroneous as they may not be compatible with new software that is being developed. They may not either be compatible with the latest updates from Microsoft for Windows and so it is important to keep them updated.

Step 3 - Update To The Latest XP Service Pack

Microsoft have released various service packs for their operating systems. This is because there are a large magnitude of updates that are continually being released, but the service pack bundles them into a simple package that can be used to update your operating system to the latest version. Having an older version of XP can cause the Error 10 to appear, so it is important to install the latest XP service pack. You can update Windows XP here.

Step 4 - Clean Out The Registry

Download this registry cleaner

The “registry” is a central database which Windows uses to store information, settings & options for your entire system. It’s basically like a library that Windows can use to open various files & settings that it needs to recall each time you use your system. Unfortunately, the registry is also one of the biggest causes of problems for the typical Windows system, as it’s continually being saved incorrectly. This not only causes your PC to take longer to read the files it requires (making it run slower), but it may also cause a series of unrelated issues, with the likes of drivers & hardware of your system. In order to repair this part of your PC, it’s highly recommended you use a “registry cleaner” program to scan through your system and fix the errors it has. You can see our top recommended registry tool below:

When you install new hardware, or with hardware that is already present, you may experience an error code in device manager ranging from error codes 45-49. Most of these error codes originate from the same problem and so have a collective solution. Each error code displays a unique message and these error messages can be found in device manager.

What Causes Errors 45-49?

To determine whether you are receiving any of these errors, you must access device manager by:

Click Start > Run > type “sysdm.cpl” and press Enter

Open “Hardware” tab and click “Device Manager“

Double click device types to view particular devices associated with it and from here you can right click and view properties. This is where the error messages will be displayed.

There are going to be a number of error messages that you can receive that you will be able to use the solutions for. These will include:

Error Code 45

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

This occurs when the device previously attached to the PC is no longer present

Error Code 46

Windows cannot gain access to this hardware device because the operating system is in the process of shutting down. (Code 46)

This can occur when you are shutting down Windows but you are attempting to use the device

Error Code 47

Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been prepared for safe removal, but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)

As the message explains, you have ejected the device from your PC or are in the process of doing so

Error Code 48

The software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)

If the device is not compatible with Windows, it may display this error

Error Code 49

Windows cannot start new hardware devices because the system hive is too large (exceeds the Registry Size Limit). (Code 49)

This is when the device drivers have too big a value in the registry for the use of the device to continue

All these errors can be solved by either removing unused devices in “Device Manager” or by cleaning out unwated registry files in the registry using a safe and reliable registry cleaner.

How To Fix Error Codes 45-49

Step 1 – Locate Unused Devices in “Device Manager” and Uninstall Them

If Windows does not have the required drivers for the operation of the hardware, then it cannot communicate properly with the device. This will cause a variety of error codes, including the ones from 45-49. To resolve this issue, you must remove unused devices using device manager:

Click Start > Run > type “cmd” and press Enter

In the command prompt, type:

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
cd\%SystemRoot%\System32
exit

Open Device Manager (you can find out how to do that at the top of this article)

This command will display all previous devices you have had installed on your PC. You can start removing devices that you are no longer going to use but still have drivers installed. This will reduce the system hive and should eradicate the errors.

Step 2 – Clean Out The Registry Of Your PC

- Download this registry cleaner

The ‘registry’ is a central database that Windows uses to store the information and settings your PC requires to run. Unfortunately, this database is continually causing a huge number of problems for your system, as it’s often saved in the wrong way. This makes your system unable to read the files it requires to run your software & drivers, which can lead to the 45 – 49 error codes being shown. If you’ve tried the steps above, it’s recommended that you use a ‘registry cleaner’ to fix the various registry errors on your PC, which should fix the problem completely.

After uninstalling certain CD/DVD recording software on your Windows XP system, or similar programs, you may have experienced Error Code 41. Error code 41 usually appears in the notification area as a yellow box with an exclamation mark next to it. Error Code 41 originates when, the software you installed and are now trying to uninstall, installed some drivers on your PC. These could be virtual CD/DVD drive emulators or similar drivers. When you attempt to uninstall, it does not completely remove the drivers and hence this error appears.

What Causes Error Code 41?

Error Code 41 will appear in the notification area as:

Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

You will also be unable to access the CD or DVD drive from “My Computer”.

Whilst this error can be confusing at first, since Windows does not give you a reason why it is occurring, it is usually caused by one of a few problems. These could either be: A slight hardware fault which may require you just to reinstall and install the hardware by disconnecting it; CD recording software leaving behind drivers even after being uninstalled or it could be a fault in the registry. All of these problems have simple solutions, which are found below.

How To Fix Error Code 41

Step 1 – Disconnect and Reconnect The Device

Sometimes, it may be that Windows does not recognise the device or has installed the drivers wrong. The best solution for this would be to reinstall the device by disconnecting it. To do this:

Source the faulty hardware. This can be determined by accessing Device Manager (Start > Control Panel > Device Manager) and any hardware with an exclamation mark next to it is probably at fault. Click properties on the hardware and check to see if it displays Error Code 41.

Uninstall the driver for the hardware at fault by using Device Manager. Make sure it has been completely uninstalled and turn off your PC.

Disconnect the hardware and start your PC again for Windows to completely “forget” that the hardware was uninstalled.

You will need to turn your PC off, connect the hardware that you disconnected, and start your PC up again.

Go to device manager again and just below the toolbar should be a computer with a magnifying glass. Click this button to let device manager search your PC for any hardware changes.

The search should bring back that you have installed new hardware and a wizard should appear to guide you through the installation process.

Following this method will make Windows completely disregard the old settings of the hardware and install a fresh new driver. This should eradicate any problems associated with incorrectly installed drivers. If this does not solve the problem, carry on to step 2.

Step 2 – Try Reinstalling CD Writing Applications

CD/DVD recording software often install their own drivers as they require the use of “virutal” hardware and their own settings. Installing these drivers can corrupt your system. Reinstalling the CD writing applications should help eliviate the problem. You can do this by:

Uninstall all CD writing applications on your PC. This includes any that have been working correctly.

Click Start > Run > type “regedit”. Press enter to open the registry editor.

Find the following key. At the toolbar, click “Edit > Find” and type HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\  SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-  E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Making sure this is the correct key, in the right hand pane, there should be a value called “UpperFilters”. Delete this entry by right clicking and pressing delete. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT DELETE UPPERFILTERS.BAK (This is the original backup for that value)

Confirm this decision.

Now click on “LowerFilters” and delete it in the same way. AGAIN, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT DELETE LOWERFILTERS.BAK.

Restart your system

Reinstall the CD recording software

This method completely eradicates the drivers that the CD software installed that may have been corrupt. It installs completely fresh ones and should provide a good working system. However, sometimes the registry values become corrupt. This can be dealt with in the next step.

Step 3 – Clean Out The Registry

- Download this registry cleaner

An effective way to fix the 41 error code is to use a ‘registry cleaner’ to repair the registry database. The registry is a central storage facility which stores all the settings & information your PC requires to run, and is where all your software applications store vital settings for Windows. Unfortunately, many of these settings become damaged & corrupted, leading to the likes of the 41 error code to show. It’s highly recommended that you use a registry cleaner to scan through this database and repair any of the damaged settings inside it, allowing you to boost the speed and reliability of your computer again. You can download one of these tools below:

Error 18 in Windows XP occurs in the Device Manager. Device Manager is an important tool for the user on the operating system as it allows them to have an overall look at what hardware is connected to the computer. It also allows diagnostic testing to determine what is wrong with components that are showing as faulty. Therefore, Device Manager is a very important tool in Windows XP and if it starts to show error 18, it is best to fix it as soon as possible to prevent any further damage to your system. Other related error messages are: Error 18 or Error 12. Read through this guide to find out how to fix this error.

What Causes Error 18?

You may have received this error:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 18)

As the error explains, Windows cannot either recognise the drivers or find them. To find out whether this error is affecting you, go to Device Manager (in control panel) and find the hardware which displays either a Red exclamation mark or a Yellow exclamation mark. These indicate faulty devices. If error 18 is present it will be shown in the properties box. Error 18 can occur when the system fails to recognise certain drivers, they may have been installed wrong or are corrupt. To fix this problem, follow the steps below.

How To Fix Error Code 18

Step 1 – Install / Reinstall Drivers For The Device Causing The Error

Reinstalling the drive makes sure that if a corrupt version was present it will be written over with a fresh file. Sometimes the installation of the driver did not complete properly and Windows does not recognise it as installed. Installing the driver can fix this. To do this:

Click Start > Run

In the open box type “devmgmt.msc”. This opens device manager. Click OK

Locate the hardware that is causing problems. As explained before it has an exclamation mark (Red or Yellow)

Right click the faulty hardware and click “properties”

In device status, if it says ”The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 18)” then in the device properties box, click “Driver”.

Click “Update Driver” to launch the “Hardware Update Wizard”. This should guide you through the rest of the process.

This method should fix the broken, corrupt or missing files. After you have completed the Wizard and restarted your PC, you should be able to access device manager and not experience the error on the previously faulty hardware. If this is not the case, please continue on to the next step.

Step 2 – Use Driver Updater Software

If you’re not sure how to update the various drivers for your system, you should use some “driver update software“. This software has been designed to scan through all the hardware on your computer and update all the drivers you have to the latest versions out there. This software can prove to be very effective if you’re unable to update your drivers manually.

Step 4 – Clean Out The Registry

- Download this registry cleaner

Registry cleaners can play a very important role in how well Windows operates, and can help stop error code 18. The registry is basically a central database which stores vital settings and information for your system, allowing Windows to remember a huge number of details for your PC. Unfortunately, the registry is also prone to becoming corrupt, leaving your system running extremely slowly and unreliably. To fix this problem, you should use a ‘registry cleaner’ to scan through your registry and repair any of the damaged parts of it that are causing your computer to run extremely slowly or with errors. You can download our recommended cleaner below:

The “c00d1199″ error is shown when Windows Media Player cannot read the file you want it to play. This can be caused by several reasons, including the file being corrupt or damaged. Anther reason why you might receive the error is because the file you are trying to play could be missing a codec which you need to have everything running smoothly. This error is extremely common on many Windows computers and can be fixed with the steps outlined in this article.

What Causes The c00d1199 Error?

The C00dd1199 error is caused by a number of different issues, including:

Trying to play unsupported files in Windows Media Player.

You do not have the codec required to play the file

Registry errors could prevent Windows Media Player from working

The sound controller could be damaged or corrupted

You can fix this error in several different ways, including updating your codecs for your Windows Media Player, changing the output audio device of your system and by also cleaning out the registry. Here’s how you do it…

How To Fix The c00d1199 Error

Step One – Select The Correct Output Device in Windows Media Player

Often, Windows Media Player will become corrupt & confused as it will either be trying to play audio out of the wrong audio device, or will have several different devices selected at once. To fix this, follow the steps below to select the correct audio device for your system:

If you haven’t done so already, launch Windows Media Player.

Click Tools, then select Options.

In the Options dialog box, click Devices and then double click Speakers.

Select a different sound card or sound controller from the Audio device to use drop down list.

Click Apply to save your changes.

Step Two – Download Any Codecs You Might Need

- Download The “All In One” Codec Pack Here (Free)

One of the big causes of the c00d1199 error is down to your computer not having the “codecs” that you need installed on it. Codecs are small programs which allow your computer to read various media formats. Sometimes, Windows computers will say they need a specific plugin or program to play a media file, and that’s because they need a specific codec. The good news is that most codecs are free and you can the all in one codec (which features many of the leading codecs) from the site above.

Step Three – Save The File To Your Hard Drive

Often you will find, files loaded on the Internet can either become corrupt or damaged. This can lead to the c00d1199 error error as it will make Windows Media Player unable to load the content that it wants to play. A good way to avoid this problem is to simply download the file to your hard drive by right-clicking on the web page and selecting Save-As.

Step Four – Clean Out The Registry

- Download This Registry Cleaner

The ‘registry’ is the database that Windows uses to store all the settings and options that Windows needs to use each day on your PC. This part of your system is one of the most important aspects of Windows, and is what many software programs are constantly using to help your system run as smoothly as possible. Unfortunately, the registry is also a big cause of problems for your system as it’s used so much it gets damaged and corrupted. It’s often the case that Windows Media Player will try and read the various files that it requires from the registry database, finds they are corrupted and will have no choice but to show the c00d1199 error. To fix this, you can simply use a ‘registry cleaner’ program to scan through your PC and fix the errors that are inside the registry:
