The 800488FA error is caused by the way in which Windows Movie Maker cannot connect to your Windows Live account – making it impossible for the application to upload the videos you require. The error you’ll find will typically show in this format:

How To Fix The Windows Movie Maker 800488FA Error

Step 1– Sign Up For Windows Live Again

The biggest cause of the 800488A error is that your Windows Live account details are incorrect. This makes it extremely difficult for your system to correctly connect with the server which is required to upload the files that you require. Step 2 – Make Sure Your Firewall Is Working

The next step is to ensure that your firewall can allow your computer to connect to the Windows Movie Maker server. To do this, we recommend you click onto your firewall’s settings, and then ensure that you allow the Windows Movie Maker program to access the Internet. Step 3 – Re-Install Windows Movie Maker
