Steps To Fix Missing VNChooks.dll Errors

VNChooks.dll is a vital “Dynamic Link Library” file used primarily by the VNChooks application.VNC in this instance means Virtual Network Computing. You may have this installed if you have a program from RealVNC Ltd.  Unfortunately, it also causes a lot of problems which can be fixed quite easily be following the method on this page.

These errors occur when using the VNChooks application. Do not attempt to follow these steps if you have VNChooks running as it will cease to run and could damage your system. How To Fix VNChooks.dll Errors

Step 1 – Manually Download The File From The Internet

It’s often the case that VNChooks.dll will either be corrupted, damaged or just not have the necessary permissions for use on your system. If this is the case, then manually replacing the file could fix the error for you. Here’s what you need to do:

1) Download vnchooks.zip from our server

2) Unzip the vnchooks.dll file onto your computer’s hard drive

3) Browse to c:\Windows\System32

4) Locate the current vnchooks.dll on your system

5) Rename the current vnchooks.dll to vnchooksBACKUP.dll

6) Copy & paste the new vnchooks.dll into C:\Windows\System32

7) Click Start > Run (Or search”run” on Vista & Win7)

8 ) Type “cmd” in the box that appears

9) Type “regsvr32 vnchooks.dll” on the black screen

10) Press enter

11) Reboot your PC

This should allevate the problem. It is recommended you carry out the following steps to ensure your computer is safe to run and has not been infected by any malicious software whilst downloading from a website.
