How To Fix The 126 Error

This error is caused by the damaged installation of MSI packages inside SQL Server 2000. If you’ve been trying to install some nest MSI packages, you should merge the “Desktop Engine” components directly into your package using SQL Server 2000 “Desktop Engine merge” modules.

Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126 (SQL Server)

This error occurs when the ODBC database is unable to be opened due to the lack of the driver. Although this driver comes with Windows as a default, it can become corrupted and damaged. To fix it, you can visit the Microsoft website to download a repair for the problem.

Error #3

Error 126: The specified module cannot be found

This error is caused when your computer is missing the “srvsvc.dll” file that it requires to process your data or commands. To fix this problem, you need to be able to replace or add the file to your system following these instructions:

1) Download srvsvc.zip from our server

2) Unzip the srvsvc.dll file onto your computer’s hard drive

3) Browse to c:\Windows\System32

4) Locate the current srvsvc.dll on your system

5) Rename the current srvsvc.dll to srvsvcBACKUP.dll

6) Copy & paste the new srvsvc.dll into c:\Windows\System32

7) Click Start > Run (Or search”run” on Vista & Win7)

8 ) Type “cmd” in the box that appears

9) Type “regsvr32 srvsvc.dll” on the black screen

10) Press enter
